Eve Packer: Bronx-born, poet/performer/actress, appears solo, w/music, in dance and theatre. Several grants and awards including NYFA, Jerome Foundation, NEH, and NYSCA.She has published three poetry books, skulls head samba, playland poems 1994-2004, and new nails. (Fly By Night Press)..Has four poetry/jazz CD’s w/ the saxophonist Noah Howard, one with the pianist/vocalist Stpehanie Stone, and the most recent: ny woman: poetry/jazz highlights. Teaches at WCC. Lives downtown and swims daily.
Bakar Wilson is a fellow of Cave Canem and an alum of the Squaw Valley Community of Writers. He has performed his work at the Bowery Poetry Club, Poetry Project, The Studio Museum of Harlem, and The Asian-American Writer's Workshop among others. His poetry has appeared in The Vanderbilt Review, Stretching Panties, The Brooklyn Rail, and Flicker and Spark: A Contemporary Queer Anthology. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Bakar received his B.A. in English from Vanderbilt University and his M.A. in Creative Writing from The City College of New York. He is an Adjunct Professor of English at Borough of Manhattan Community College at CUNY.
Laura Swearingen-Steadwell is a writer, editor, and performer living in Bushwick. She is a Cave Canem Fellow, and author of the book, How to Seduce a White Boy in Ten Easy Steps.
